Faded: A Distant Sky

Here is the 2nd year project we did with my group : Lou de Tarade, Liam Pallez, Cerise Claret and Clemence Maraval where the task was to create a 5 minutes game loop with an interactive environment and a playable character.
For this project we decided to explore the themes of childhood, memories, mourning, dreams and grief among others.
The entire project was done envisioning a painterly Art Direction to put an emphasis on the dreams and memories of the main character.
For this project I was in charge of creating the Shaders, VFXs, Profiling / Optimization (Although I wasn't the only one on that last front) as well as helping a bit in the tooling, modeling and texturing domains (Although my participation was quite minimal in these areas).

My main accomplishments for this Project were :
- Making a painterly custom post process using custom passes to create the base for our Art Direction
- Redefining the Textures channels pipeline in order to end up with much less texture weight
- Creating the Master Shaders (Environment, VFX and Character) to allow versatility on every asset
- Modeling and Shading the Fishes as well as creating VFXs to embellish their visual impact
- Creating tools to ease the pipeline such as : a C# tool to automatically spawn books on bookshelves, an Ivy Tool done on Houdini (with Liam Pallez) and a C# + Shadergraph system to group the book textures and randomize them at game start (with Lou de Tarade)
- Profiling and Frame Analyzing using Renderdoc.
Overall a project me and my groupmates were very proud of !
